Fall Through - Sound In The Signals Interview

I recently had the opportunity to interview Fall Through. We discussed how they started the band, musical influences, live performances, what to expect from their upcoming music, and more. Check it out below.

Can you tell me how you started the band for those who may be unfamiliar with it? How did you become interested in music?

We’ve all been in the diy music scene for a while, and David and Jace had been wanting to start a pop punk band for a long time. Start Today happened to be lining up a tour after our planned trip to Jersey so the stars aligned. Hudson, Coleman, and David visited Jace in New Jersey and wrote our songs while we were out there. We came back and Erick was the perfect man for bass.

What bands or albums are some of your biggest influences? Why?

Our main inspirations are definitely bands like Saves The Day, Lifetime, Kid Dynamite, Fastbreak, Shelter, The Story So Far. Pop punk/melodic hardcore bands like that.

You’ve been out playing shows with some great bands, such as Start Today, lately. What has been some of your favorite shows that you’ve played?

The best show we’ve played was probably in Oakland at the tamarack, super awesome energy and environment. Hudson’s garage was fun cause we could just fuck around.

What are your favorite songs to play live?

We only have around 6 songs, 5 of which we’ve played live, but the straightedge revenge cover is always fun, all the homies piling on and singing along, doesn’t get much better.

From looking around, it seems like you haven’t officially released music, but the live videos I’ve seen sound great. Can we expect an official music release at some point? Are there plans to release a demo or will we hear a single first?

We hope to write a few more songs and put out an lp as our first release, we thought about a demo but decided to just wait to have more than 4 songs.

What can listeners expect from any upcoming music?

Lots of fun, shouting go, stage dives and singing along.

Thanks for taking the time to answer the questions. Do you have anything else that you would like to add?

Shoutout to straightedge, Start Today, Stand Tall, Mob Records, Home to Heart, the bay, New Jersey, hardcore kids, Miguel, Nate, Chijj and all of our homies.
