5ever - ‘ILY’ Track By Track

Brittany Rose Queen

New England pop/punk band 5ever released their new EP, ‘ILY’ today. It was produced by Alan Day of Four Year Strong between 2022 and 2023. Check out an exclusive track by track for the EP below.

Anything More: I actually remember when we first made the demo for this song, I think every member of the band collectively went “THIS IS THE ONE” when I sent it over to everyone. The song is supposed to be confident and bratty, which is definitely a direction we’re trying to go in. The song is supposed to be about being so connected to someone you can’t shut up about it, I wanted it to be as light-hearted as possible.

TTYL! : This song is actually pretty old. We initially wrote it batched with our first EP, “Forever” and we always really liked it and figured it needs to be released into the world. It’s the most POP PUNK pop punk song we have ever made, and it was really fun making it. This song is about feeling inadequate to your significant other and trying your complete hardest to become their super hero, even if you know how flawed you are.

Aliso Creek Bonfire Circa 2010 : This has always been a personal favorite of mine, it felt unique to a lot of our other songs, and I wrote it with trying have more of a story aligned with the lyrics. The song’s opening lines in the chorus speaks to the meaning, “don’t wanna be a burnout” which is something I struggle with quite often, in a sense of being burnt out with constant working (hustle culture) AND in the sense of being burnt out from drug abuse. It always felt more raw to me because this always felt more difficult to admit in my art but it felt necessary to share.
