Netflix - Announces 'Anne of Green Gables' Series
Netflix will team with Northwood Entertainment on the new series Anne, which will be a take on the iconic story based on the novel Anne of Green Gables. It's written by Emmy® Award winner Moira Walley-Beckett (Breaking Bad, Flesh & Bone) and will feature a two-hour series premiere directed by award-winning director Niki Caro (Whale Rider, McFarland USA, Zookeeper’s Wife). It will be produced by Miranda de Pencier (Beginners, Thanks For Sharing). Production will start this September in Ontario, Canada. The eight-episode, one-hour series will stream globally on Netflix and be broadcast on CBC in Canada in 2017.
