Instagram is introducing their new feature Instagram Stories. It allows users to share all the moments from their day. If you share multiple photos and videos they can appear in a slideshow format, which is your story for the day. Instagram says one benefit is that the user won't have to worry about overposting. You can also now use text and drawing tools. The photos and videos will disappear after 24 hours and will not stay on your profile grid. The stories from people you follow will appear in a bar at the top of your feed. Tap the photo and you'll see the story. You can tap to go back and forward in the story. You can also comment on the photo through a private message on Instagram Direct, but you will not be able to like it or post a public comment. Your story will be shared according to your privacy settings, but you can also choose to hide it from those you don't want to see it, even if they follow you.
