Introducing Snapchat Memories

Snapchat has introduced a new feature called "Snapchat Memories". It's a new way to save your snaps and stories on Snapchat. With this you save a collection of your favorite photos or videos and you'll get an easier way to search through the images to create "Memories". All you have to do is swipe up from the camera to open Memories. Then you can type keywords (such as food, vacation, etc.) and it finds photos for you so you don't have to search when creating your "Memories". You can also add a "My Eyes Only" tag so others will not be able to view certain images or videos in the "Memories". These do back up to Snapchat's servers.

One important note to make is that if you use "Snapchat Memories" your photos and videos will save to the "Memories" gallery. If you do not want this to happen and you want to continue saving your snaps to your phone's image gallery then you should go to the Memories section and find the 'Saving' section. Tap "Save To" and then select "Camera Roll Only".

The feature will roll out over the next month. Update your app to be sure you have the latest version. Keep an eye out for a "Chat" from Team Snapchat in your app to see when it's available for you to use. Read their full statement HERE and watch the teaser video.
