HBO confirmed that season 7 of
Game of Thrones will see some changes. It will premiere in summer 2017 when it usually premieres in the spring. It will also have a reduced season at only seven episodes instead of 10 episodes. The President of HBO said the executive producers feel that filming when the weather is changing will be better for the upcoming storylines. The show usually starts production in July, so by delaying the premiere they will also be able to delay when production must start. This comes after season 6 of the series broke HBO ratings records, received many Emmy nominations, and amassed tons of fan and critical praise.
