Alteras - 'Grief' (Artwork Feature)
Youngstown, OH quintet Alteras recently premiered their new video for "Could Ever Love" and announced that they signed with Revival Recordings (owned by Shawn Milke of Alesana). Their upcoming album, Grief is due out on August 5th. It was recorded and produced by Nick Ingram (For Today, Dayseeker, Jay Z) at Capital House Studios in Columbus, Ohio. They were kind enough to describe their artwork and how they created it. Pre-order the album HERE.
"The album artwork for "Grief" was actually designed and composed by the band. We combined all of our ideas and tried to create an image that portrayed what we felt was not only iconic in relation to the album and its conceptual nature, but true to ourselves and representative of the band.
We ultimately decided on using the flower losing it's petals as a focus because, in essence, it captures the idea that just because something is beautiful or even average in appearance, there can still be insurmountable levels of pain withheld inside of it.
We're very proud of this album art. It's something we as a band created together without any outside influence or assistance, and the integrity and honesty in the artwork itself is more valuable and close to our hearts because of it."
