Superman's Coming Back to The CW

DC Comics revealed that Superman will be returning to The CW next season on Supergirl. This comes after the news that Supergirl is moving to The CW for season 2. We always thought that would be a better fit since it will provide more crossover opportunity with other DC shows, Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow.

Reportedly Warner Bros. Television and The CW discussed bringing Superman to National City during the first season. He appeared in a few scenes and often texted or messaged Supergirl, but the audience could never really see or hear him. Alas, we'll get our first look at him as soon as the beginning of season 2. This will be the first time the two (characters, not the current actors) have been seen together onscreen since Smallville in 2010.

“Greg, Ali and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl,” says Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg. “Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!”

Superman hasn't been cast yet, but news will likely come soon. Some fans are already clamoring for Tom Welling to pick up the cape again. Who will it be?
