Issue Of The Month: "DC UNIVERSE: REBIRTH" #1 (May 2016)

It's time for another issue of the month when I pick one issue from any current running comic series to highlight. For May 2016, I decided to pick DC UNIVERSE: REBIRTH #1.

This issue introduces DC's new direction. It introduces new directions, revisits some past storylines, and combines some things a lot of DC readers might never think possible. DC is swinging for the fences with Rebirth and honestly, this was the most essential comic that came out in May. There is a huge spoiler for this issue and I'm not going to reveal it, but the introduction of this particular group into the DC universe could shake things up in a really interesting way. The artwork is good and from the start this issue does for me exactly what it's suppose to, which is get me excited about what the future of DC Comics is going to look like. This issue is also a nice length which really allows enough time to set up what is to come for the DC Universe. I really enjoyed the artwork and there are a couple pages of art that I think will go down in DC comic history. This is a must check out!
