Donald Glover - Joins "Spider-Man: Homecoming"

We were excited about the idea of Donald Glover potentially taking on the role of Spider-Man, but that didn't happen. He did get the chance to voice Miles Morales/Spider-Man in Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors on Disney XD.

However, he will be joining the Spider-Man film world soon. He is reportedly in talks to join the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming. This will be Marvel and Sony's reboot of the Spider-Man franchise. They have not released any details about Glover's role at this time.

Tom Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man from Captain America: Civil War. Marisa Tomei will reprise her role as Parker's Aunt May, Michael Keaton is signed on as a villain, and Zendaya is cast as the female lead. Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man as he continues to help the young Spider-Man hone his skill. Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel) and Laura Harrier (One Life to Live) will also join the cast.

Spider-Man Homecoming starts production later this month. It's expected out July 7th, 2017.
