Descendents - "Victim Of Me" (Song Review)
The Descendents have returned with "Victim Of Me", and it's fantastic, quite honestly. The punk legends continue to impress even this late into their career. This song is everything you want. It's everything you loved about the Descendents. It's fast, catchy, and the band sound as good as they ever had. The bass line sounds fantastic throughout the song. It sticks out in the mix and is just so catchy. The drums hit hard and sound great. Milo's vocals are fantastic.
I basically don't have one negative thing to say about the song. If you've ever been a fan of the Descendents then this should bring a smile to your face. If you've never heard them, but you enjoy the poppier side of punk that leans more on punk than pop then this is definitely for you. This single builds so much anticipation for me for the band's upcoming album Hypercaffium Spazzinate. This band is a legend in the punk world and their first song back, in a while, is just a testament to that legacy. It doesn't sound phoned in or lazy. If anything, it sounds as urgent as the band did way back on Milo Goes To College. It doesn't just sound great; it sounds better than most that have either attempted or currently attempt to do the sound and genre. Get hyped! The Descendents are back in a big way with this first single!
