Paul Cornell Returns to "Doctor Who" - Unexpected Twist on the Third Doctor

Titan Comics / Josh Burns
Titan Comics and BBC Worldwide North America have announced that we will see the return of the Third Doctor this August. Paul Cornell (Wolverine, Action Comics, The Severed Streets), a fan-favorite, will write the five-part comic series about the Third Doctor. Artist Christopher Jones (Young Justice, Marvel's Avengers) will bring to action the unexpected twists and turns in an all-new story.

The story will follow the Third Doctor as played by Jon Pertwee. His companions are Jo Grant (Katy Manning) and the Brigadier (Nicholas Courtney). Pertwee starred as the Third Doctor in 128 episodes from 1970-1974. We can expect to see a suave and technologically oriented man of action following Pertwee's portrayal of the Third Doctor.

Description:
"When something enormous and extraterrestrial crashes into Bedfordshire, the Doctor, Jo Grant, and the forces of UNIT under Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart mobilize immediately to investigate – and find themselves in the middle of a pitched battle against a terrifying invader! But the shocking face that awaits their return to base may tip their whole world off its axis."

Doctor Who: The Third Doctor will be available in stores and on digital platforms on August 31st. The first issue will come with five variant covers to collect. See them below and a small peak at the interior art. Click images to enlarge.
