Kareem Abdul-Jabbar - Creating "Mycroft Holmes and the Apocalypse Handbook" comic

Titan Comics / Joshua Cassara & Luis Guerrero
Titan Comics is teaming up with NBA All-Star, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for Mycroft Holmes and the Apocalypse Handbook. Abdul-Jabbar will work with best-selling novelist Raymond Obstfeld (Joker and the Thief) to tell the stories of Mycroft. Joshua Cassara (New Avengers, The Troop) will provide the art and Luis Guerrero (Doctor Who, Rivers of London, The Troop) will be the colorist.

It will be a new standalone that uncovers the secrets of Sherlock Holmes' brother, Mycroft Holmes. Abdul-Jabbar published his novel, Mycroft Holmes, in September 2015, which garnered praise from fans and critics. The New York Times wrote that Abdul-Jabbar’s numerous credits even “rival [that of] Conan Doyle himself.”

Mycroft Holmes and the Apocalypse Handbook will follow Mycroft as he is pulled around the globe on adventures at the behest of Queen Victoria and a secret organization. He must track down a madman with futuristic weaponry who is determined to destroy civilization.

Mycroft has gained attention through appearances on TV shows, Sherlock and Elementary, although he only appeared in few stories by Arthur Conan Doyle. This is sure to add a new dimension to Mycroft.

The five-part serial will be available in stores and on digital platforms on August 3, 2016.
