Issue Of The Month: Batman 51 (April 2016)

It's time for another issue of the month when I pick one issue from any current running comic series to highlight. For April 2016, I decided to pick Batman, Issue 51.

This is a big issue in the Batman universe. It marks the end of Snyder and Capullo's run. It's hard to imagine anyone else stepping up to the plate and writing the great Batman stories that Snyder has. I think this era of Batman will always be remembered for its' fantastic interpretation of the characters, the great visual representations of them, and the groundbreaking nature of some of the stories. This issue is very much about Gotham. It has a tone and a real humbling feeling and an understanding of the city and what being a Gothamite really means. So often Batman is the main character, but it is nice when a writer allows the city to be the main character and Batman just to be another piece of the puzzle. I'm excited for the next chapter in Batman, but it no doubt will have a lot to live up to after this run. This is a great issue to cap off a great run. Fans must check it out. I couldn't think of another title that deserved Issue Of The Month this month more than this issue!
