Kevin Kerslake (The Ramones, Nirvana bios) serves as director of the new AS I AM: THE LIFE AND TIME$ OF DJ AM documentary. It covers Adam Goldstein's childhood, family life, rise of his DJ skills and career, his struggles and road to recovery, romances, his miraculous survival, and his untimely death. It features interviews from Mark Ronson, Diplo, Jon Favreau, DJ Jazzy Jeff, A-Trak, Steve Aoki, and many more. It also features musical performances and music by Daft Punk, Outkast, Elton John, The Ramones, Black Sabbath, and many more. Yahoo premiered the trailer for the upcoming film. See  it below.
 
Description:

"Authorized by the estate of DJ AM, Kerslake’s film is a comprehensive and compassionate look at one of the world’s first truly superstar DJs. DJ AM experienced meteoric success through both raw talent and sheer determination, overcoming what for others might have been staggering adversity before tragically succumbing to the demons that dogged his life and career."


The film opens in New York on May 27th and in Los Angeles on June 3rd.
