Bricc Baby Shitro - Nasty Dealer (Mixtape Review)

Bricc Baby Shitro has been making some pretty big waves lately. His single "6 Drugs" has become an internet favorite that has been causing blogs and critics left and right to give the up and coming rapper quite a bit of praise. I've been interested in hearing what Bricc Baby Shitro would do after some of this massive hype he has gotten. I was more than interested to hear if he could continue the trend of interesting songs when Nasty Dealer dropped.

Bricc Baby Shitro might not have the greatest name in the music game, but that doesn't stop the fact that Nasty Dealer is a legit good mixtape. The mixtape is filled with song after song of pretty cleverly done trap inspired rap. Shitro has a pretty interesting flow overall. The beat choices for the mixtape are really solid and work with Bricc's flow nicely. Especially on a track like "6 Drugs" which shows the rapper rapping over a sinister sounding trap beat. There are moments on this song that remind me of some of the rapping style I heard on Flatbush Zombies' song "Thug Waffle". The song previously released is already a fan favorite and its inclusion on the mixtape is a highlight. The title track also has a really interesting sounding beat that has sounds that reminds me of something you'd hear in a nineties Nintendo game when the character reaches the boss of the level. "No Pressure", featuring Kid Ink, is another standout song. The beat works well with Bricc's rhyming style and Kid Ink does a good job on the track. The album isn't all hits. I was not a big fan of the auto tune used on "Choppa Music". It just didn't work for the track, in my opinion. Further down the mixtape auto tune is used a little bit better on "In Love With A Hater". I think the use of auto tune worked a lot better with the beat and helped it make the song flow a lot better.

In a year when tons of similar artists like Young Thug, Pee Wee Longway, and The Migos are releasing albums and mixtapes that are getting a lot of hype I can see Bricc Baby Shitro gaining a lot of attention and becoming an artist that a lot of people jump on board with this year. This mixtape has a lot of standout tracks, super solid production, and flows really nicely. Yeah, some of the lyrical content can be a little rough around the edges at times especially with some of the subject matter. That could potentially turn off some listeners. I will say the lyrics probably are lifestyle lyrics which definitely add to the vibe and style of the mixtape. I think in a year when it seems that a good rap/hip-hop project has been released every week Bricc Baby Shitro has released a pretty notable mixtape that I think will continue to build his hype and interest. Check this one out!
Note: I edited this mixtape artwork slightly so it would be safe for work.
