Talking Music: Halloween EDITION Part 1 of 13 (October 2014)
For October's Talking Music Feature I decided to do something a little different. Instead of one post with a ton of albums this month we're doing 13 Days Of Halloween! That's right; every day for the next 13 days we'll be counting down to Halloween. I'll be making one post a day featuring an album, EP, split, single, or mixtape that has a sort of "Halloween" theme or vibe. Check out the first selection after the jump.
Three 6 Mafia - Mystic Stylez
I'll kick this off with Three 6 Mafia's Mystic Stylez. The masked rappers, the bloody horror movie album artwork, and the sinister sound fleshes this album out and creates this creepy tense listening experience. This is definitely a perfect album for Halloween. Just listen to "Break Da Law '95" about a minute and a half into the song the eerie beat sounds so horror movieish it feels like Michael Myers is right around the corner. The whole album plays like a b-horror flick from a group at their A game during this time.
