We Shot The Moon - Love On (Vinyl Review)
I'm a big fan of indie record labels that put out high quality products. I was instantly intrigued when Watchmaker Record Company LLC announced their vinyl pressing of We Shot The Moon's Love On. I've been a big fan of Waking Ashland and We Shot The Moon for a long time. Love On is actually my favorite We Shot The Moon album. Watchmaker was nice enough to send over a review copy and I'm really impressed after the first look and listen.
The first thing I noticed about this, and one thing I really liked, was that label owner Luke Bremmer included a typed thank you that was signed by the label owner. It was a really interesting read and really displays the tone of what the label is about.
I received the translucent gold variant of the record, which was limited to 100 copies. The vibrant color matches the artwork for the record nicely. I also really like how the white center labels with blue writing look with the translucent gold record. I'd highly recommend purchasing this variant before it sells out. For the vinyl collector that prefers black (and there are quite a few!) Watchmaker has also pressed 250 standard black copies.
The jacket looks great. I really like the overall look of it. It is made of high quality material and the artwork really looks impressive. The lyrics sheet is nice and thick. It's glossy and double sided. On one side is a promotional photo of We Shot The Moon and on the other side are the lyrics to the album. A digital download is also included, which is always a welcomed bonus.
The overall sound is top notch. It's really well done. It's an album I always thought would sound great on this format and Watchmaker did a great job making sure this album sounds good on vinyl. Listening to it really brings out some of the different instruments and layers really nicely.
Another thing I really like about this release is the fair pricing at $16 for the LP. When it seems like price gouging in the vinyl industry is getting out of control it's nice to see a new label step in and offer a quality product at a nice price.
I'm really impressed with the sound and look of this record. I'm really excited about the future of Watchmaker as well. They've put out a quality release. I'd highly recommend checking it out if you are a vinyl enthusiast or if you've ever enjoyed a Waking Ashland or We Shot The Moon record.

There are also, at this time, some test press copies of the record still available. There are only 5 in existence so act quick if you want one. The test press can be purchased here: http://watchmakerrecords.storenvy.com/collections/265933-all-products/products/5868832-love-on-test-press
