Mibbs - The Program (EP Review)
PacDiv is definitely on my list of favorite rap groups of the last ten years. Church League Champs is awesome and so are their albums. The main problem with them always seemed to be label issues and album delay issues. I think a lot of their fans are still waiting to hear what would have been Grown Kid Syndrome. The trio kind of went their own ways for a minute after their last album GMB.
Mibbs solo EP, The Program, is pretty good. It has really good raps and the beat choice works perfectly with Mibbs rapping ability. The EP kicks off with title track "The Program" which is my favorite track off the EP. It may be one of the best rap songs I've heard in a while. It has a great beat and shows that Mibbs is having no trouble holding his own as a solo artist. "Fade" lyrically shows Mibbs at his best with the beat being one of my favorites on the EP as well.
Yeah, this isn't PacDiv and some people may be waiting around to see what they do next as a group. For anyone doing that I would hit pause on those feelings and definitely check out this EP. Mibbs was always one of the more stand out lyricists of PacDiv and he brings that personality and rapping ability to The Program. This an EP you should definitely check out.
