He Is Legend - Something Witchy (Song Review)
Well that wasn't too long of a wait, was it? Haha. In truth I think most of us would have liked to hear new music from He Is Legend a little earlier. With that being said after nearly five years without releasing any new music the group has released the new song "Something Witchy". I don't always write single reviews but due to how much I've been waiting to hear new music I thought this could warrant a quick single review.
One thing I noticed right off the bat is that it isn't so much of a super heavy song as it is more of a rock song. It does have a couple heavy moments though. At about 2:45 in you can hear a nice heavy moment. You can hear some heavy drums build up to distorted vocals and screams. Schuylar Croom's vocals are overall fantastic in the song. He sings over riffs that sound somewhat like something you'd hear on an Alice In Chains song. It's a rock song that sounds clean while sounding a little dirty around the edges and that works really well for the group.
The great thing about the track is that it shows growth musically while maintaining what fans have enjoyed from previous releases. It also does the ultimate job of being good enough to really wet fans appetites for the upcoming album. If this song is any indication it shows real potential to live up to the hype. While we wait though "Something Witchy" is sure to be getting a lot of plays from me.
